PROFILE

Dr. Reese Halter is an award-winning conservation scientist, family man, best selling children’s author, syndicated science writer, TV nature documentary host, and adjunct professor of Botany at Humboldt State University, California. In the late 1980s, Dr. Reese founded Global Forest Science as a charitable international forest research foundation. He donated the first seed money to the foundation. Today with an international team of over 140 scientists, Global Forest Science is a world leader in forest science research and conservation and has been called the Red Adair of the forest biology world.

Over the past 24 months corporate North America has poured over $18 billion of new capital into wind, waves and solar energy and is now very quickly beginning to roll-out the infrastructure to begin distancing from fossil fuels. Some companies are the inovators, some are retrofitting and other are moving laterally into new sectors. The intersting aspect is that its not just corporates its hundreds of mayors in towns and cities that are redoing their communities and SPENDING! Arenas are going green, hotels are going green and now Lexus is going green. The opportunity for making $$$ and being seen as a good corporate is huge. If California with the eighth largest economy in the world can enter into a carbon constrained economy then so can everyone else.
